ISLAMABAD: As many as three civilians were killed and seven injured on Friday as Indian security forces resorted to unprovoked firing on the Working Boundary.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Spokesman Lt Gen Asim Bajwa rejected the Indian claim of killing of any Pakistani soldier on the Working Boundary. He said intense and heavy exchange of fire continued in Shakargarh along the Working Boundary. Pakistan Rangers befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing and targeted Indian posts inflicting heavy casualties.
The ISPR spokesman said Indian claim of killing any Pakistani soldier at working boundary is absolutely baseless and untrue. Indian claim is part of their propaganda campaign aimed to hide their losses also divert world attention from the Kashmir issue, he added.
“Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Tatta Pani, Jandrot and Nakyal sectors in the afternoon, using small and heavy weapons,” an official told reporters.
Separately, the Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations on Thursday. For the third time in less than two weeks, the Indian deputy high commissioner was summoned to the Foreign Office.
