PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have foiled a terror bid while apprehending an alleged suicide bomber in Peshawar.
On a tip-off, CTD personnel conducted a search operation outside Radio Pakistan office on Bacha Khan Road and arrested a suicide bomber.
The suicide bomber was identified as Rehmanuddin, while he was active member of proscribed militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Ahraar, a splinter faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The counter-terrorism department has claimed that the suspect was trained to carry out a suicide attack in the country. The suspect has been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.
