ISLAMABAD: Former Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) Tahir Basharat Cheema had a heart attack on Thursday while in National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) custody.
He was immediately transferred to Pakistan Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for medical treatment, sources said. He was arrested for illegal appointments of 437 Assistant Line Men in Gujrat Circle of GEPCO. Their appointment has also been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC). Accountability Court (AC) had his granted 14-day physical remand on May 6 and today he got a heart attack while still in custody.
