FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation Department – in collaboration with the Regional Transport Authority – impounded 527 vehicles for violating the law.
The teams checked a total of 3,804 vehicles and took 527 vehicles into custody over reasons including unpaid tokens, travelling without ‘number-plates’, fitness certificates etc.
Fines worth Rs 700,000 were issued to the drivers and the department’s sources revealed that at least 52 vehicles’documents had been confiscated over illegal or unspecified registration plates.
